Anyone have wall mounted taps? (esp. with double ended bath)

Do you find they stick out alot? The builder showed me mine on the wall and they stick about 15cm into the bath! I have asked them to move the bath away from the wall (with a ledge) and changed the bath one for a basin (shorter) one but it still seems silly... did you find this? What did you do?

Instead of a tap, we got one of these which goes where you'd expect to find the overflow but the water flows out of it too.

Actually we got this one

o! How do you turn it on? Looks a much better idea....

SNAP! We've got that. The 'tap' as shown in the 2nd link is where the water comes out - and that sit neatly to one side of the bath.

To turn it (and the shower) on there is a fairly flat wallmounted disc with a small leaver and thermostat that sits on the opposite side on the wall. There is a lever at the top of the 'tap' that opens and closes the plug.

It's great - especially with two DC - as no one gets stuck up the tap end!

What jj said - this is the tap

We've got one of those, too. A double ended bath, with wall mounted mixer tap and shower handle thingy, but the water comes out of a mixer thingy like the one in the link above.

I know all the technical terms, I do

I have a double ended bath - but bath mounted taps in the middle

So no-one gets the tap end

LadyOfWaffle · 21/03/2009 13:25

Where did you get these odd taps? The wall mounted ones are in the middle but it looks like it'll knock the DSs brains out

We got ours from Bath Store, I'm pretty sure. Ours is also in the middle (as is the plug) so you can lie at either end of the bath. It's bliss

lalalonglegs · 21/03/2009 13:54

Yep, I'm like KatyMac - wall-mounted in the middle of the bath. Tbh, the dc have occasionally bumped into them but only once or twice - once they know they are there, they know to avoid them.

Well, I stopped the plumbers today to check this out for me I found that funny tap for £250 (excluding the turn on and off bit!) so I just went ahead with my brain-knocker-outer ones... they are in now
