shower pressure suddenly rubbish

sorry, v boring I know, but just in case any of you know about these things! Our electric shower has lost pressure the last few days, and we get a fairly pathetic spray. I've descaled the head, but no better - do yo reckon it's just time to buy a new shower? (Not cheap) Or can it be fixed? It's prob 12+ years old.

Does it have a pump? That might have gone. To be honest, 12 years sounds quite a good innings.

is the water hot or cold? could be the thermal coupling. This happened to ours, loses pressure and then wouldnt heat

The water is inly hot if I turn the dial right up. Hmm, I suppose it's time to fork out for a new one. Not cheap, are they!!
