Decorating: what colour carpet for yellow walls?

Please help as we;re useless with this sort of thing! Walls not 'primary colour' yellow, just a light sunny colour.
Room will be baby's room so carpet colour needs to be vomit friendly!

Can you have laminate and bright rugs rather than carpet? (as there is vomit involved )

Or if it has to be carpet, I'd stick with beigey shades or perhaps something dark like very dark grey.

Patterns help hide stains! Also if you go for synthetic rather than wool carpets they are more resilient to staining.

Light blue looks nice with yellow I think, and can be gender neutral.

Something fairly neutral, like an oatmealy colour. Maybe with a cheapo rug from Ikea to protect the carpet a bit - they had some nice multicoloured stripe ones which would like nice in a child's room.

I thought a biscuity colour- I'm notas badas I thought at this.
Yes,ora nice pale blue, thanks.
Not keen on patterns, and I don't think DH would go for laminate as he thinks it's cold, and if thebaby will be crawling around he migt be right.

Agree with BirdyArms. We had a flat with a sunny south facing reception room that had sunny yellow walls and white skirting, ceiling and shelves.

It worked well with an oatmeal coloured carpet.

what has happened to my space bar?
Thanks everyone! Might get a rug - DS still has an offcut under his changing mat but we're just getting a clean, new carpet, not a ridiculously expensive one. As long as it lasts 5 or so years...
