What colour walls go with a terracotta/rusty orange sofa?

Unfortunately I cannot change the sofa.
It's got really nice deep rusty red cushions to go with it but what colour to paint the walls? I want to get away from "apricot" and orange pastels, so any suggestions?

You could go for a complementary colour - green or even purple - would give the room a rich, warm look.
But I bet most people will tell you to go for cream or beige.

Oh no, I really want to get away from cream or beige, my husband really wants green but I'm really not sure. Purple sounds good but not dark purple.

a light-ish brown would look nice

Or maybe a classy navy blue.
