had house valued today and while it what i expected i cannot beleive how much mroe it is to move these days - we last moved 10 yrs ago and it hardly cost anything at all - with estate agent fees and the likes it almost 5k before you start - is this hibs thing the law to have or just recommnended as forking out £300 on something everyone views as useless just pees me off no end...

Yes I am afraid it is the law. We've recently put our house on the market & had a HIP done.

Good luck with finding a buyer!

ahh so its a HIP - thanks - they sound crud!

God, they're utterly useless.

You pay 300 quid for one, and then if you get a buyer their solicitor will usually have to redo all the searches anyway - especially if if your HIP is more than three months old!

So they're a total waste of money. Ffff.

hmmmm - EA said would put on straight away while waiting for us to get hip but after April they have to have before - what if i err forget to get one? Will they lock me up and throw away the key or will it just slow down things? Would rather save my £300 and get it when it looks like we have enough interest to justify one. Its a pants idea i agree.
