HELP!

We have found a place to rent but they are asking for 6mo rent up front (because we are moving from another country so are apparently a risk). Am happy to pay this, but just have a worry that if the Landlord/owner loses possession for any reason, we may find the new owner asking us for rent irrespective of what we have already paid to the original guy (IYSWIM).

Does anybody know what would happen?

You won't necessarily get evicted if the house is repossessed.

In brief, if the Landlord bought with a Buy-To-Let mortgage then defaults on payments, in most cases the Mortgagor appoints a company to take over it's Landlord obligations.
