Help me choose bathroom tiles-ceramic or porcelin-what is the difference?

Hi, Finally getting around to replacing the vinyl tiles in our bathroom with new flooring. Not a clue what to go for. I had thought mosaic tiles until it was pointed out to me how difficult it is to clean grout and there would be a lot of grout. I need something really easy to clean. Budget is not huge but would be willing to pay a little extra if it made a difference IYSWIM

The bathroom is tiled in white tiles with the odd jade green glass bit cut into the big white tile. I don't even know what colour to go for....I am usually so good at these sorts of things

Ceramic tiles are less expensive and probably used more often than not. However, if you chip them the colour is only on the top surface so it is noticeable. Porcelain tiles are harder, more difficult to break and if you do the colour should be the same through the depth of the whole tile. As a result they are more expensive!

If you already have white and green I would either stick to one of these colours for the floor or perhaps a dark grey? The room will look bigger though if you keep them white.

Thanks for replying. I was thinking grey too. I think white would make it look a bit clinical and be hard to clean. At least now when I am looking at the tiles have an idea of what I am looking at.
