OK I know I'm going to look like an idiot for asking this...but how on earth do you change a halogen spotlight bulb when it has a clip thingy on it??

Oh bumping for you as I couldn't work it out and although I know now I am crap at explaining things

NB DON'T try to kind of gouge round it with a screwdriver . I did that then worked out after a bit of ceiling came out how to properly release the clips.

I hope you get better advice soon.

Oh and whatever you do make sure to turn off the electric first (just saying...)

is the clip thingie a piece of wire that goes about 3/4 way round the cirle? Just squeeze the wire and it comes out, then the bulb falls down (still attached to the wire) and you can change it. Had to do it last week - though hadn't then got a replacement, so currently have a bare wire hanging down
