I'd think about White Company if they really are spectacular but really I'm more M&S if they are decent ?
Thank you

King of Cotton

I looooove their stuff, and the delivery service is excellent. Good prices for really good quality stuff that'll last forever.

I am sorry to be unhelpful but really - towels? Is there much of a muchness?

meep · 04/02/2009 06:24

I have 2 sets of towels from John Lewis - both used frequently and both bought at the same time. One set is now like cardboard and one set is still nice and fluffy 3 years later!

I think it was the Egyptian ones that are still fluffy and the classic ones that are now cardboard.

I don't rate John Lewis classic

Debenhams varies but I've had some good ones from there
They also sell Christy which seem pretty good so far

Descamps. We've had them for years and they still look brand new

I have some from the White Company and they are still soft 4 years on. However they are rather grey now which spoils the look.

Descamps - there is an outlet at Bicester Village - really fabulous quality and cheap at the outlet

I also bought two Ralph Lauren towels ten years ago for about 8 quid each in the states - they are still like new - again there is an outlet at Bicester Village but I'm not sure if it's not just clothes crap there

Another vote for John Lewis Egyptian cotton here. I bought mine years ago, at least 8 or 9 years ago, and they are still soft and fluffy even though I don't use fabric conditioner.
