Has anyone had to go through Probate?

Don't want to post loads of detail/questions, but did it take a long time for it to go through?

Depends on if there's a will & anything to sell & divide up.

About 6 months for my Dad (Overseas assets to consider) but only about 6 weeks for FIL. think it depends how straight forward the estate is. Are you submitting probate yourself?
My Dads estate was handled by his banks probate service (expensive but necessary) but MIL and BIL did FILs (BIL really good at forms etc)

took 6mths for my MIL, but she was the only inheritor (is that the right word?) so it was fairly straight forward.
