Can anyone recommend a good plumber in the Clapham/Balham/Battersea/Stockwell area?

Just that really. Very hard to find a decent plumber; please let me know if you have found such a thing.

I have found one, but he is in North London...he is newly trained friend of DH's. He just came and drained our entire central heating system of all it's disgusting sludge and we are now like chestnuts roasting on open fires

He is not qualified yet to do boilers and cannot self certify yet but is about to start those courses.

Have you got a specific issue, or are you just speculating for potential future problems?

His wife is expecting their first DC so they need all the money they can get. I'm sure he would travel from Muswell Hill area if the job was not too small. Am also sure you would get a good rate given he is newly qualified.

He came out to fit my new cooker and was reliable, friendly and reasonably priced. He had to do a bit extra and didn't charge for it. Lovely bloke!

Theres a very good plumbing company called Flush-based in Balham. Google Flush as they have a good website too.

Thanks for all those leads. LalaLonglegs have you used him on your projects? I.e. you've used him more than once and have been happy with him?
It's so tough to find a good un.

He came and fixed some of the problems left by our original plumber and we've used him for bigger things since (eg. installing new boiler). He is reliable, his time-keeping is pretty good (in plumber world) and he knows his stuff - my only small reservation is he doesn't stop talking once he starts. I'd recommend him and will use him again.

I had big problems finding a good one and ended up shelling out the ££££ for Pimlico Plumbers, who actually turn up when they say and do what they're meant to....for a price. Wouldn't use them for a big job though.
