Though a flat pack would be a good bookshelf for DD - it ended up being way too small. Totally my fault as I misunderstood the centimeters as inches.

Anyone manage to take an assembled unit back to Ikea?

Yes, we have. We bought a bed the wrong size. Didn't realise until we'd built it and the matress didn't fit. My DH dismantled it, took it back and they gave us a refund but not a full one. It was less 30% I think.

We took a sofa back with a box that had been left in the rain. We thought they would def charge us 30% but I mumbled something about the legs being faulty and they just gave us a refund, no questions. I was amazed.

Go at the end of the day when its been busy and they will all be tired and fed up and just give you the refund! At worse you will lose 30%.
