when we bought the house we noticed the bathroom window looked like it had been installed by small child rather than qualified builder. true enough it now leaks every time it rains. worried the whole thing may have to come out again and be fitted and sealed properly. anyone got any idea ballpark costs? it's a victorian house but is a modern window, not full height, not sash or anything (not in keeping with rest of house either - natch - the previous owner really knew how to lwreck an old house. grr)

Hi, my other half is a builder, is your window wooden/plastic and where are you in the country as that can affect price! also I take it its double glazed?

thankyou zoe! wooden (gently rotting) and in London (add a few noughts). nope not double glazed (conservation area all to much hassle)

Just get a nice new box sash put in - depends on size but our bathroom window was about £600 to manufacture and fit with weights and everything. A lot but sooo much nicer than uPVC shocker that was there before (I'm in London as well).
