Just wondering what's good for kids up there....I'm guessing quite alot though!

It'll be my DD1's 5th birthday just after she starts school there and I want to throw her a really cool 'getting to know you' party for all her new friends.

Don't think I want to do it in the house as we won't really know anyone and that might put people off. Want a good venue really. Any ideas greatly appreciated

I can't help with the cool venues part, as I only moved up to Scotland in April of this year - but I can tell you that people have been very friendly and welcoming, and all three of my sons have settled in well and made new friends.

I live just outside Glasgow but I'm going across to Edinburgh on saturday for the Christmas meet-up/swallie (a meal and drinks) with Glasgow and Edinburgh mumsnetters, and they sound like a really friendly bunch. Perhaps we'll meet at the next meet-up?

I hope the move goes well - we did two moves within 4 months as we moved to rented accomodation whilst we house-hunted, so had to do the whole awful thing twice. I still whimper when I see a cardboard box.....

I think the Zoo probably do parties?

Have a look at the dynamic earth website. They do parties. Sorry, I can't do links!

Inscotland - links are easy - two square brackets, paste the link, space then the name you want then close the square brackets.
