A high pressure water system using a combi boiler?

At the minute the house has got one of those traditional series 7 boiler (I think?).

Thanks!

we are near Cambridge, she is having an extension and had a new boiler installed as part of it, so the total cost might be a few other things aswell.

You can't have a high pressure water system with a combi boiler. You need a pressurised system with a tank such as a Megaflo. It will depend how big your property is, what brand boiler you choose, how much hot water you want to store and how much of existing pipework can be used. For a three bedroom house, a condensing Worcester boiler and Megaflo will cost about £2000-£2500 then you will have to factor in pipework and labour. NB: If you are getting a new boiler, many plumbers will want to replace radiators etc or at least powerflush them to get rid of all the sludge in the system which is several hundred pounds.

agree with lalalonglegs you would need the megaflo to make it pressurised.

We had worcester bosch junior 28i boiler fitted in 3 bed house in Yorkshire, had 10 radiator thermostats fitted on our existing radiators, had new double radiator to replace a single one and had all pipework removed from the loft, hot water tank from the tank cupboard and the cold water tank from the loft.

Took 3 days and cost £2300 3 years ago.

To flush the system was about £300-£500 depending on who quoted us.

Next time we would want the megaflo to pressurise it. Our cold water has incredible pressure but we lose that pressure as the boiler heats the water, especially in winter as the cold water coming into the boiler is colder.
