Having failed to find double brass hooks for the back of the bathroom and bedroom doors with the same unpolished patina effect as our(new)door handles I have decided to buy normal shiny ones, strip the varnish off and leave them out in the rain for a couple of weeks - will this work do you think?
If they were old hooks then not polishing them would be enough but I live in Spain and cannot get old ones here...
