Buying worktops online - anyone done it?

I've now found the kitchen I want - it's MFI space in cream and I want a bamboo worktop, however MFI are quoting £1400 for it - £450/metre. So I'm sure I could get this cheaper elsewhere.

Has anyone bought online?

We did!!

Think our oak came in at 440 with upstands, instead of 1000.

Do plenty of homework into what makes the best type of worktop in your choice - like in Oak we were able to get thicker wood through this company, which we couldn't have afforded at the big chains. With oak anyway, thicker better less likely to warp etc.

Also research oils to use and how much to do before fitting. With oak we did 4 coats of tung oil on every surface over a fortnight.

Got advice from www.diynot.com about fitting and oiling and what to look for.
