Anyone ever fitted a loft ladder - or had one fitted?

How much did it cost? Was it easy? Who did you get to do it?

As you can tell I don't know much about this sort of thing but I hate the weekly attic arguments, DH's refusal to let anyone else in the loft and his inability to find anything that he's ever put up there!

We have a really basic one which DH fitted himself.

He and FIL spent a happy time last week choosing a new one for PIL - they went with one from telesteps, cost aroung £200 I think, which DH was at, but it is apparently the loft ladder to have. He'll be fitting that himself too, but they are both very handy.

We got one on ebay - didn't cost much. DH Fitted it, but is pretty handy.

hmmmmm DH is alot less handy than he thinks.

Cost us about £500 but we had to move loft hatch to enable the ladder to be extended properly - get a professional in if not straight forward.

Had one fitted in our last house (3 years ago?) for about £200. Very quick and easy job (for the chap doing it - would have taken dh all day).
