I NEED 'SOMETHING' TO LIVEN UP A CORNER BUT NOT SURE WHAT!!!!!

I have a corner of my room which is now crying out for something tall. The wall behind it is green so not a plant!

Not keen on those twiggy bundle things. Can't have a lamp cos there is a small table lamp just in front. But can't think of anything else?

Any suggestions please?

A mirror or a painting?

I've got one of those big palms in my corner - but have cream walls. How about a nice tall orchid on a wee table/stool?

Merlin · 23/10/2008 15:13

Thanks Tracy but none of those will work I'm afraid! The green wall has a flat screen TV in the middle of it so picture or mirror would just look odd I think.

Also I already have a small table there. The space is literally big enough for a tall plant or ???????

something hanging definitely

Merlin · 23/10/2008 15:21

mmmmm had thought hanging was the way to go - maybe a macrame potholder with spider plant

Contemporary mobile type thing maybe

WhereWolfTheWildThingsWere · 23/10/2008 15:23

A corner unit

A funky mobile

Rows of black and white photographs

A tall paper lamp from ikea

How about a plant that is not green?

CountessDracula · 23/10/2008 15:38

So is the table in front not against the wall?
Would whatever it is sit on the wall or the table?

Merlin · 23/10/2008 15:50

diffcult to explain. Wall at right angle to green wall is patio doors and has sofa in front. Small table with lamp sits at one end in front of green wall but not against it.

Think hanging thing is a good idea will have to Google.

What about a piece of wood. I have a large slender wooden vase. Its about 4 foot high, sleek and gorgeous. Have a look in Pier, Next Home, Cargo, Habitat. Or a nice ceramic tall vase?

Merlin · 23/10/2008 15:54

Salleroo - wood sounds nice. Will check out your store suggestions. Thanks.

What about a stencil? I've seen a nice one in Ikea - kind of like a climbing contemporary rose?

or could you put a mirror/picture either side of the TV?

Merlin · 23/10/2008 16:09

Stencil maybe - or I've seen those contemporary stickers as well.

TV is big (dh 'TOY' ) so pictures/mirrors either side would be overkill.

Thanks for all the suggestions, it's given me lots of ideas.

These are the best mobiles IMO, look fab in corners (we have a selection!)

Thanks Pannacotta for the link. They look fab, but maybe a touch too modern for my room, but love the kiddies ones!!!
