Preferably north of Kettering as family are still uuup north. I think would prefer a town rather thana village, but open minded at the moment.

Thank you in advance

Lots of nice villages around Kettering but 3 lovely stone towns (fairly) near Kettering are:

Up the A43 then off A1 (route up north) Stamford.
Along the A14 then up the A605 towards the A1 Oundle.
Up the A6003 to Uppingham.

Where about are you at the moment Movin?

MovinMovinMovin · 14/10/2008 09:35

Thank you, that's great.
In Leeds at the moment, so M1 essential.
Really open minded about what sort of house, but think will be renting.

Somewhere along the A14 then would make it easier for you to get onto the M1. Rushton and Desborough are both along there not sure how nice it is to live in as i dont go to them. Neither have super markets so would have to go to Kettering for shopping. Market harbrorough is about 30 minute drive from kettering or 9 minutes on the train. Have to go long the A6 to get onto the A14 AFAIK.

Kettering itself isnt too bad obviously the area you live in makes a difference. Then again ive lied here about 4 years andwas over here loads when i aws younger and living in Corby.

Market Harborough is really lovely and very handy for the M1 - I lived there for a couple of years and it took about two hours to get up to West Yorkshire

ds loves watching all the planes and helicopters flying over from there. when we moved here, there was a house in the village there up for sale, it was a bit more than we could afford but it still had the original 1960's kitchen in it, it was fab, all red and retro looking! probably been ripped out by now though!.
