short story is we have been looking to move out of London for some time. Dh has come back from March, Cambridgeshire and wants to move - now!! Of course, no decisions will be made that quickly (by me )but is anyone out this way with littlies? Just looking for any advice really. dd1 is 12 and dd2 is 18 months.

South Cambridgeshire covers the south of the county, excluding Cambridge City - in fact there are some areas in South Cambridgeshire District Council area that are north of Cambridge.
Most if not all of the secondary schools are good:
Swavesey Village College
Comberton Village College
Impington Village College (the only 11-18 college - the rest at the moment are 11-16)
Bottisham Village College
Sawston Village College
Linton Village College
Melbourn Village College

St Bedes is in Cambridge city and is a faith school (jointly RC and CofE) but has school buses operating over a wide area.

The 11-16 secondaries then feed into the two Sixth Form Colleges in Cambridge, Long Road and Hills Road (as well as Cambridge Regional College for vocational courses). Hills Road is one of the best sixth form colleges in the UK but you do need good GCSEs to get in.

we've made the decision to move! I'm sold on Huntingdon (thanks Sparkles) and I am in love with Hinchingbrooke School for dd. So, it's back to trawling the property pages... please let me know if you know of any rental properties going that are suitable for a family .

Hubs is rooting for Kent / Rochester / Gillingham now!! Bloody hell .

Good luck with the move, we live very near Huntingdon. Hinchingbrooke is a good school I think, I went to St Peters and my sister goes there now and seems to be getting on well.
