Velux windows - alternative to velux blinds?

Any ideas? I'm trying to think of something prettier than the polyester/aluminium constructions.

If you put a pole at top & bottom you can hang curtains with a tube at each end

They aren't always easy to pull together tho' it depend upon the material

you can make your own blinds with any fabric you like- just put an eyelet at each corner and a small brass hook at each corner of the window.

If you can reach the window they're easy enough to put up and take down

You might as well ask me to build a replica of the Large Hadron Collider.
I have to get my mum on the case unless I can find something ready-made...
