Hourly rate? 1/2 day? Full day? How much is not being ripped off?

£150 - £200 a day

Where are you ?
In the NOrth West you'd be looking at £120 a day but with work drying up you might be able to knock a bit off that too.

What? You can negotiate? Wow. Times have changed. They've always had us over a barrel in the past. But I think I may have found the husband of a friend to quote. Is harder to haggle when it's more personal, however. But anything less that the 500-600 quid I've heard about has got to be better.

Depends what you want doing? Normally up to £200 a day but atm my dh has hardly any work on so he would automatically give a lower quote to get the job because the way things are work wise for him/us any money earned is better than none.
