Kitchen wall tiles in 3 colours: should we put them in randomly or in some sort of pattern?

We are doing our kitchen walls in ceramic tiles in 3 different shades of yellow/cream. Would they look better in rows of light/medium/dark, or just putting the different shades in at random?

Good lord, random, of course, you crazy woman.

random - when my ex did ours he found a random tile generator online - it wasn't totally random, but gave you a layout where you didn't get blocks of colour, or same coloured tiles touching (though we had 5 colours). Actually hard to do totally random yourself.
