shutters on a 1950's house???

I love shutters and as we are in the middle of a HUGE renovation I would love to put the in the bedrooms. But dh disagrees and says the ones I like only look really nice on older houses such as my parents who live in a Victorian house.

Does anyone have them here in a 1950's built house? or would I be better with blinds??

Never seen them on a 1950s house but no reason they would look odd - no intrinsically Victorian if you're talking about the plantation style ones. However, joy of huge renovation is that you probably will not be able to afford them by the time you get to that stage so it'll be Ikea's finest rollers .

Are you talking about external or internal shutters? And what type?

Shutters aren't a 'victorian' thing necesarily so i would say simple white ones are great and if well fitted much more efficient than plastic windows.

give it a whirl. everyone said i would regret it with mine ... and then ate their words when they saw them. they are pricey though, so you have to be 100%.
