trawled around for this, can't find anywhere to buy whitewash.
look at this site though, and maybe google the recipe contents for ideas as to where to buy?

Is it a cob building? If so you need limewash like SaintGeorge said so the wall can breathe

Tis a bugger to use though as it will burn any skin in comes in contact with and you have to use many layers to build up the colour

Gosh - it looks more complicated than I thought. When I was a child I remember buckets of whitewash being sloshed onto the walls of all the farm outbuildings - no-one seemed worried about being burned though. Maybe I had better do some more research.
