hi, we are having shelving on the walls. quite long running and floating effect. electrician explained the ins and outs of getting spots fitted to bottom of shelving. sounds pricey and might look shite. anyone got any good ideas for lighting that can be fixed below shelving and not look horrid?

thanks!

Use hollow shelves like these ones from Ikea and low voltage spots. You can run the low voltage wires in the shelf (although it is a bit fiddly). The end result is fantastic.

If not hollow, are these high shelves (above eye level)? Just run the wiring on top (in trunking or perhaps rebated in to the shelf) and be careful when you put stuff up there.
