Can someone help me decide whether to go for plain black granite or for black with a bit of silver sparkle in it. Its for our bathroom. The tiles for wall and floor will be travertine and the cabinets are hi gloss white. Thanks in advance.

if they are the same price go for straight black. the only thing you might want to think about black altogether though is whether you are in a hard water area, we are and have black in the kitchen and get very bad water marks.

but thats only my opinion!!

I'd go for black with sparkles. Bathroom surfaces will get splashed with hand washing/tooth brushing and sparkles will 'hide' water spots - so no need to constantly wipe down surface to make it look 'clean'.

We are in a hard water area but are having an electronic water softner put in which will hopefully help with the limescale. I think I'm leaning more to the sparkly option as I do like a bit of sparkle!

I work for The Granite Worktop Company take a look at their website and you can see some images of kitchens fitted with granite worktops to help with style ideas. They also supply granite and quartz worktops at very good prices. www.granite-worktop-company.co.uk

Sparkle.
Have you considered white quartz with silvery sparkly bits?

I agree with kitsmummy. Definitely plain (if you want granite at all; now looking a bit done to death imo ).
