Re-sealing double glazing

When we bought this house (4yrs ago) it was partially double glazed, I think they'd been put in some 5-6 years previously

I've started to notice draughts from around the edge of some of the windows, is it possible to have them re-sealed in any way or are we looking at having them replaced?

I can't see any gaps but can feel the cold/wind getting in so need to do something before the winter and heavy curtains isn't really solving the problem.

TIA

if the draughts are coming in from the edges of the frames.. you can mastik between the wall and the frame.

If the vent seals are gone.. you might be able to get new rubber seals to put on them.

could jolly well be a cheaper option than replacement.. but might not last that long

Thanks Barnical - will try the mastik first and see what effect (affect?) that has before call in an expert

Just to add - have just spent a moment feeling round the window with DH (aren't we romantic)

The draughts are coming from the edge of the opening part of the window (if that makes sense) so think it's the seals which have gone.

Guess I need to call a glaxing company

wouldn't be suprising .. the windows are from what you say about ten years old.. the vent seals will have suffered somewhat.. I still would go and look about a diy store and see what seals they do that might work.. unless you really want new windows.

Def don't want new windows - am hoping to just get the seals changed!

I had all the seals changed on my double glazing, and it seems to be OK, the tenants have not complained.
