Thinking of buying a house there, but worried we have fallen in love with what is basically a holiday area and it just won't do for 'real' life.

Dunster is lovely - I made our family go there for a 'lovely day out' in the pouring rain on Sat. and still loved it. We always used to go for our summer camping holiday to Home Farm at Blue Anchor Bay from sunny Manchester. Now we live in Wilts tis but a short drive away - still plan to go there next weekened as pre-birthday treat even when could have picked more exotic locations. Only drawbacks can think of are irritating tourists like us and too many cream teas if you like that sort of thing! Good luck - think locals seem very friendly for a holiday spot and there are many lovely places coastal walks etc. nearby we love it!

I love it, but for me it is just a bit too far away from anywhere. Minehead is small and pretty dead in the winter, and the road to Taunton is a slow one, especially if you get stuck behind a tractor.
