Does anyone have a glass room/pergola/veranda

And if so would you recommend?

Im not looking for a conservatory, more of a covered patio area from the back of the house.

We’re in the west of Scotland so somewhere to sit out when it rains but not an indoor room, maybe glazing all around that can be opened on the annual summers day.

Well, I’m Australian, in Australia and I wouldn’t be without a verandah. All our houses are built with one at the back. And a version of a porch or verandah at the front. I wouldn’t be without it.

Somewhere to sit out of the sun or the rain, somewhere to keep your bbq, we have a washing line, somewhere for children’s toys to be played with, somewhere for wet weather clothing to be removed and hung to dry. And somewhere to keep the beer fridge.

This is one of my favourite books https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?ds=30&dym=on&rgn=eu&rollup=on&sortby=2&tn=Pleasures%20of%20the%20porch

Just get yourself a verandah. You won’t be disappointed.

Oh, and get it screened to keep the midges out, if you live in midge habitat.

Thankfully midges in the garden are rare - never seen them. By god they can be vicious though 😂

I guess conservatories tended to be more popular in this country, but I’d want something that could also be properly open, more of a sheltered garden space than a room.
