Farringdon station (London) or Farringdon Hampshire? Farringdon Devon? Also where are they commuting to??

SereneFinch · Yesterday 21:38

Farringdon has loads of connections as it’s on the Thameslink. Have a look at their route map, to the north of London.

Hitchin? Somewhere like that.

Bermondsey? It’s lovely these days. Can walk to Faringdon fairly easily from the south bank.

Acton near churchfield road. Good access to Acton mainline lots of stuff going on in Acton or surrounding Chiswick ealing or shepherds bush

Lovely but too pricey. Thanks though. 3400 is their max.

Have a look at Berkhamsted if they might want less London but more boujie suburbia. I used to commute to Farringdon from there - it took an hour door to door if you time it right. Direct train to Euston, quick walk to Euston Square and couple of stops on the Met Line.

It has lots of pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, shops whose only purpose seems to be selling gifts (but very lovely ones at that), a restored art deco cinema, and lots going on. Very middle class, highly educated community vibe (most people have moved out of London).

I would also look on the Thameslink, although in St Albans that budget might not be enough and parking / traffic can be a nightmare.

I personally like West Hampstead closer to town but you certainly won’t get a house on that budget!!

Have a look along Thameslink line. Some areas of South London/Kent might fit your budget and lifestyle.

elfandsafeT · Yesterday 22:26

Greenwich - easy commute on Thameslink, lovely area, lots of green space and the river, reasonable priced accommodation

Cocorico22 · Yesterday 22:27

normally would say Bromley as it’s on the Thames link and has lots of greenery… or Chislehurst which is ‘naice’. but the rental market is as dead as a dodo right now, very slim pickings!

this looks okay but pokey garden and possibly on a main road

Kentish Town/Tufnell Park/West Hampstead if looking north?

Definitely look at Thames Link. My son commutes to Farringdon and is in Surrey. 45 mins direct train. One downside, thameslink is always cancelled ahead of the southern trains, but he can go East Croydon and change.

We're in Wapping, easy 25 min cycle to Farringdon and lots of transport links, great yoga, cafes and community groups, Thames views, easy walk to the Spitalfields and City.

Loads in south East London! Follow the Thames link line

gettingolderbutcooler · Today 09:33

Redhill?

singthing · Today 10:05

It's on the Elizabeth Line so that opens up a whole range of "easy" East and West possibilities, depending how far/long you are willing to travel.

trying29 · Today 10:09

my partner commutes into Farringdon from Norwood Junction - we live close to Crystal Palace. Thats a pretty easy commute on the thameslink, and for the days it is not working its 10 minutes into London Bridge then up

Aydel · Today 10:26

Twyford or Maidenhead on the Lizzie Line?

Xiaoxiong · Today 10:39

You can search on Zoopla by travel time to farringdon, which is helpful as it shows areas that are opened up by the Elizabeth and Thameslink lines and you can filter for how long the commuting partner is willing to travel.

menopausequeen · Today 11:26

Sevenoaks. Thameslink train goes direct. Or any station along that line. Bromley South, Shortlands etc

LadyLapsang · Today 14:33

When you say mature, are they aged 60 + or approaching that age? Is staying within a London Borough for free off peak travel a consideration?
