That old chestnut again- great shower or poor bath?

We have a tiny bathroom. It’s the only bathroom and there’s no room for anything else. When the kids were little, we had a small bath with shower over. The bath was the smallest available and an average sized adult would be sitting almost upright, with wedged sides. When the children were older, we decided to get a shower instead. We have a huge shower, which is luxurious and convenient.

Now we need to fit a new bathroom (due to something breaking, not because we’re weirdos who keep installing new bathrooms!). We will probably sell in under 5 years.

Do we get another fab shower or fit another disappointing bath?

Shower.

Shower. We all use our lovely ensuite shower. No one uses our bath.

Whatever makes the best bathroom for you. It sounds like your bathroom will be a downside in any sale situation (because it's small), so you may as well have 5 years of a bathroom you enjoy.

We just got rid of our bath for the best shower I’ve ever had in my life. Zero regrets.

Shower. We’re getting rid of our bath too. We had it installed 13 years ago as we thought a bathroom ‘should’ have one. We also installed a great shower and that’s all we’ve used. The bath has been used about 6 times, and not at all in the past 6 years. It just sits there gathering dust.

Shower.

We’re in the process of changing our main bathroom into a shower only from a bath with shower over. Have teenage boys who are supposed to use that bathroom but they come up to use our en-suite shower in loft conversion every day instead.

We’re planning on selling in next few years and originally thought we should keep a bath but I can’t stand it any longer!!

Shower always!

Shower. Always.
We have a bath in a separate bathroom. I can't remember the last time it was used. We have lived here for 10 years

For me, shower all the way. I guess if your house is likely to appeal to young families there's the argument about bathing babies/toddlers but having done that in various building sites/renovations that's obviously fine. Depends if you're worried about people closing their minds to it but you never know what's happening in future so I'd say stick to a gorgeous shower!

Out of those 2 I would say a good shower! Would prefer to have both, but if my hand was forced I would say the shower. Smile
