Alternative to British Gas Homecare

Boring - i know..

I've had BG Homecare for years now - since we had a new boiler and heating system installed. Over the years the cost has risen, of course, and I find I am paying a lot per month and not even getting the cover I thought I had.

Who would you suggest as an alternative.

In reality I want full Boiler and central heating cover - with an annual boiler service.

Plus plumbing and drainage

Am currently paying close to £500 per year which is crazy so I'd like to get that down. I've looked on the comparison websites but my mind is frazzled with all the options out there.

TIA

We have the boiler and heating system covered with the local family run heating company who have looked after our boiler since they installed it. They don't do water so general plumbing is us contacting a local company on a when needed basis. We can also access HomeServe through our house insurance. HomeServe might do what you need so worth checking them out.

But if you get the full cover as you want then £500 a year is reasonable. So are you looking for better value or to lower your costs?

Some of the utility companies offer a package. Ours is with Utility Warehouse , paying significantly less than our former BG homecare with more coverage but did go up as we claimed for a leak last year.

Thank you for replies

I’ll check out further options.

I think overall I don’t mind paying that amount but I’d like more included in the cost.
