Bathroom refit.

Planning to revamp our upstairs bathroom.
Family home.
We have a downstairs shower room.
We never use the bath in the bathroom. It just gathers dust and spiders.
We can't put a shower over the bath as it's next to a large window.
Thinking of getting rid of the bath and having a walk in shower, completely changing the layout. We don't have room for both.
Would it put you off buying the house if it didn't have a bath. I'm just trying to work out if it's a good idea.

Not having an upstairs shower would put me off far more than not having a bath, if I am honest.

Although I do love my bath, and they are great for young kids, DD has actually preferred showers since she was standing anyway.

Neighbour has just installed a deep japanese tub thing that is really short - might be an option. Although if you aren't bath people I would just leave it out.

I'm getting a new bathroom fitted. Currently have a shower over the bath and hate it. I'll be having a lovely shower fitted and no bath at all.

Yes I’d be looking to putting a bath (I don’t have baths, but families want them). I managed to squeeze in a full size bath into my DD’s en suite shower room as she does take baths. It involved moving all the plumbing and even the door to make it work.
If I loved the house I’d be factoring not just the cost but hassle of getting a bath back in, and it could be the deciding factor if deciding between two properties

I have a shower over the bath in front of the window and its a PITA managing the shower curtain. I'd love a proper shower and no bath wouldn't put me off at all. I think it used to be more of an issue a decade or more ago, but attitudes are changing.

I prefer a bath but plenty of people will be fine with a shower.

How about opaque film on your window?

I like a bath while my OH likes a shower, we have separate bathrooms so it suits us perfectly.

I would not be put off a house without a bath as long as there was room to retrofit one (in the scheme of things it is not the biggest job in the world to do so).
What would put me off however if there was no room to fit a bath without a major reconfiguration of walls etc.

I have done the same! Removed the only bath we had and replaced it with a walk in shower. Last time I had a bath was many many moons ago with the 1st birth. Don’t regret it. In fact I know someone who,viewed a house recently without a bath and they still put an offer in and said they would just put a bath in as she had young children.
