Removal company recommendations for moving house in Reading

I’m looking to move house and am considering a removal company as I’m pregnant. I’m based in Reading. I’ve had a couple of quotes but they are so expensive - does anyone have any recommendations for any reasonably priced companies?

Are you staying in the area? Would it worth asking for recommendations at the ‘destination’ end?

We used Cross Country Carriers 5.5yrs and they were very good. Reasonably priced too

Assuming you're self packing I suggest

1. Buy used stackable storage crates, 80 Litre, usually around £15-£18
2. Pack as much as you can filling each crate. (removal companies prefer stackable crates, and it makes it predicable to quote)
3. Get at least 2-3 onsite quotes, 10 days before moving. (Try a few from outside the area), www.BAR.co.uk
4. Book parking bays > 7 days ahead (often cheaper, check your council)
5. Move and unpack
6. Sell crates
