Draw a pencil sketch with some measurements on it as a plan view then ask Gemini ai to show you an artist impression is a good place to start

A few free ones worth trying:

  • IKEA Kitchen Planner: probably the easiest to start with. You enter your room size, drag in units, and see it in 3D. It's useful for layout ideas even if you won't buy from IKEA.
  • Wren Kitchens online planner: easy to use, with a good 3D view for trying different styles and colours.
  • Planner 5D or RoomSketcher: general room planners that are simple to use and good for testing layouts like an island, a galley, or an L-shape. The free versions are enough for ideas.
  • SketchUp Free: very flexible, but it has more of a learning curve, so probably only worth it if you enjoy that sort of thing.

For style inspiration rather than layout, Pinterest and Houzz are great for saving photos of kitchens you like.

One tip: measure your room carefully first, including where the windows, doors, radiators, and sockets are. That makes any planner far more useful, and you can show your sketches to the kitchen companies so they understand what you're after straight away.
Good luck with the new kitchen!

DIY kitchens - they’ve got a free design tool or, if you want to buy from them, you can pay one of their designers £30 to plan it for you.

Indeed. And they have better quality kitchens for a fraction of the price you’d pay elsewhere,
