Panelling - help!

Panelling...

Yes, very popular right now but also very in-keeping with our 150(ish) year old house.

Downstairs - high ceilings, oak flooring, big windows etc. Thinking of bullnose and beading in squares.

Bedrooms - normal height ceilings, carpet, small windows. Unsure on having the 4" strips of wood to create the panelling effect or the beading (as planned downstairs).

Thoughts / comments / tips / advice / suggestions all welcome.

You put in room measurements, columns and rows and they make a pre cut kit for you. There is a visualiser to show how it looks. We drew it on the wall and put kit on top.

Unashamedly, I have fake panelling in my hall and landing in my 1860s house. I couldn’t face the vast blank slab of wall up the stairs. I have hidden cupboards too.
Everything is colourwashed the same slate-ish blue, with waxed wood doors and handrail. I am pleased with it.
It needs to be done well, with lots of filler.
