Anyone got one? Do they have lots of choice ? Really want a white one for our new kitchen.
Howdens have their own one called “Polaris marble” and I was hoping for a similar one from diy!

I had a slab of black quartz polished and made into a table.
It's bombproof and imo, absolutely beautiful.
But it is unbelievably heavy.

When you say DIY, do you mean you are going to cut it yourself? That would need specialist cutting tools, I think.

We got our kitchen from DIYK, but we got our quartz from a local supplier. They had much more choice, full sized slabs that we could view, and most importantly, their prices were much more competitive that DIYK.

Ah, okay. B&Q website is DIY.com so I wasn't sure what she meant.

We also got our kitchen from diy kitchens but had quotes from other places and got a better price.

cloudbabies · 14/09/2026 17:46

Where is the best place to get a worktop then ladies ? Our last kitchen was a DIYKitchen but we had the solid oak from there, which was so nice but wasn’t a change this time 😊

I think lots of people go with Al Murad. We used a company called Mo's stonex based in the South East.

GoodkneeBadKnee · 14/09/2026 18:47

We went with Bloomstones London.

Imdonehere · 14/09/2026 18:49

We got the quartz from a local specialist supplier.

I absolutely love my DIY kitchen but my fitter told me to get my worktop elsewhere for less, so I did.

FusionChefGeoff · 14/09/2026 19:39

I’m in the middle of doing exactly this - DIY have zillions of types of worktop BUT ask on your local facebook group and they will recommend local manufacturers who will be much cheaper that’s what I’m doing

Posywosey · 15/09/2026 18:15

We git a DIY Kitchens kitchen with quartz from al-Murad. Massively recommend them - fab service, very responsive and big range. Plus they were cheaper by a fair bit (DIYK outsource to Natural Stone Surfaces).

Also just had a DIY kitchen with Al Murad worktop. They were great, really helpful and responsive to the billions of questions I had, and returned no questions to correct a small mistake which I didn't realize until.after I had technically signed off the install. Also cheapest quote :)
