And a black range oven (which we already have and love so want to keep) what colour tap would you go for ? I’d love an aged brass colour but will it work ? We would have a black fridge freezer too I think

Does the black range / fridge have any chrome (handles etc)?

If so, then to make an aged brass tap work I think you would need more aged brass in the room (door handles, radiator, etc) to make it make sense.

Is it a yellowy brass - I dint think that would go with the greeny. Units

Yes it has silver handles on the range. I’ve seen a worktop called ‘ethereal glow’ and I kind of love it 😆 that’s why I was thinking aged brass tap? But I guess silver could work too !

Chrome. That's the colour taps are. Nothing else needs to match with your taps.

Aged brass would totally work as long as you have other elements of brass too. We're doing very similar and it's looking fantastic. Brass handles, taps, and electrical fixtures.
If you do go for a brass tap, make sure you get the waste elements of the sink (ie plug/overflow bits) to match.
Can the fridge be integrated so it matches the units, if you don't want too much black?

Black/silver fixtures throughout might be easier and cheaper if you already have some things you're aiming to match. And would undoubtedly also look good.

Lastly, chrome is not "the colour taps are" 🤣 taps can be varying colours!

I absolutely disagree with the poster saying taps don’t need to match other metals in a kitchen - it looks so much better if they do.

I would prioritise what is easiest to clean and maintain. By the time you have all your crockery, utensils, etc the room will no longer look like a show to room and you probably won't think twice about if the taps match.

No, chrome goes with everything. I agree on bronze/brass/ages look is much nicer but no two brands are the same and it gets really difficult to tie a room together coherently.
chrome is safe and will work whatever else you do.

Our not quite finished kitchen isn't green (it's burgundy & pink), but we have a black range that has chrome and brass handles plus a black handleless French style fridge freezer. Our cabinet knobs/handles are unlacquered brass and our tap is chrome. Imo, it looks good...but we were aiming for an eclectic, deVOL style which I think we've achieved.

A mix of metals would definitely work in your kitchen @cloudbabies as long as the brass tap isn't the only brass element!

If you're not selling any time soon, just get what you want. What other people think is "right" will keep changing (estate agent said light things generally still work best regardless of fashion, because of it seeming bigger/airy etc), but if you're the ones living there, just mock up versions of all you are considering, and go with what makes you happiest.

Get chrome / stainless steel

We have Al murad ethereal glow worktop, brushed nickel taps, pulls etc and a black range/fridge. Cupboards are Norton mussel from DIY Kitchens. Works well, as the worktop has both golden and silver toned veins, and the brushed nickel has elements of both.

I do have this colour kitchen. My tap is stainless steel, handles are pewter, cooker is black, I have a stainless steel breakfast bar and fridge is silver.

Try brushed nickel. Softer than chrome and goes well with stainless steel fridge.
