Want to do an uber cheap loft conversion by fitting one, painting loft and putting in a cheapo laddery staircase thing

Depends on size. this list should give you idea of unit prices then allow about £300 per window to fit.

Is it worth doing it that way if you want to use space for anything other than storage?

We've just been quoted £6k to fit 4 (electric ones with shutter blind).
