Advice on choosing LVT flooring and suitable wear layer thickness

Sorry for yet another thread on this, have looked through previous threads with interest r.e. recommendations which is very helpful.
Seems like Karndean/Amtico and Polyflor Camaro are the most popular.along with others.

The thing is that some recommendations have the lower rating of wear thickness (about 0.3mm?) which makes a big impact on lowering the price from the Karndean/Amtico 0.55mm thickness.

Does anyone have any advice on this, do we need a 0.55mm wear thickness? I've noted that some say a Karndean floor dents easily but they could be at lower wear thickness level flooring so it might be comparing apples and oranges!

Any guidance and or reccs would be most gratefully received...

We have Amtico which is top end LVT and not had any problems. It was important to me to support a British company and I believe it is manufactured in Coventry. Karndean is manufactured in Asia- China I believe.

We went for the thickest option (sorry can’t remember the exact mm) but we were putting it in in the hallway. So it was high traffic, with outdoor shoes, plus our pram at the time. This was Karndean and it’s held up fine but it’s only been a year.

If you’re doing a bedroom, you could probably use a thinner wear layer I guess.

Also have Karndean, but in the kitchen. There is a guide to wear on their site that we used to make sure we had the right thickness for it's use.

I have Karndean in the hall and lounge (can’t help with thickness I’m afraid), but I just wanted to say be careful of Karndean as it can scratch, also don’t mop it too often as it will get quite dull. Our friends have Amitico and I prefer that tbh.
