Underfloor Heating - Is mostly retrofitting worth it?

Expanding the kitchen diner out by 3 meters and the original plan was not to touch the rest of the house to minimise scope/cost creep.

If we wanted underfloor heating, then the new part of the kitchen/diner would make sense but of course it would be not much good having just half the kitchen diner (the new part) with ufh but the rest not so do people normally have their existing floorboards ripped up for this? Then if we wanted it in the lounge and hall it would be the same right?

I can see how it's great for a new build but for a mostly retrofit seems disruptive/expensive?

Do people normally do that when they are just building out the kitchen diner by 3m at the rear?

Dig out the floor, lay pipes and then screed over it.

We extended by 1.6m but had the existing floor dug out and under floor heating put in the whole kitchen.

If you have too much money, and nothing to spend it on, go ahead.

We had ufh put in our extension, half the living room and half the kitchen (breakfast room area) and definitely worth it, glad I didn’t go to the expense of having it out in the whole room. It keeps the whole area warm (still got radiators in existing end of the rooms but it’s much warmer than the rooms used to be, even thought they’re now bigger).
