LVT flooring down or painting first?? Help settle a debate!

Currently re-doing the kitchen in our new house. Settle a debate please.

We are having LVT flooring throughout the new kitchen and diner but we also need to completely re-paint this area.

Paint first or flooring down first?

DH thinks flooring then paint, and I think paint then flooring.

What would you do or have done and why?

Thanks

What are you doing about skirting boards?

Always paint first when you have the option! If you drop any on the new flooring you're all going to be pissed

Start from the top down so printing first.

I’ve just done this. Paint first. It’s so nice not to worry when painting the ceiling and moving everything around! Then flooring, then skirting boards back on and touch up.

Paint first.
Why risk dripping paint on new flooring?

Those will also be painted.

See this is my thinking. Surely its best to get the paint jobs done first and then put the flooring down. We will be getting a professional in to do the painting as we don't have time ourselves but even so I would be so nervous about him getting it on the brand new floor which is pretty costly. 😬

Yep, my thoughts exactly. I just think it makes sense to get everything painted first and the flooring is the very last thing to be done.

I know! It just doesn't make sense to me to do the flooring first and then paint. Glad I am not alone in my thinking.

Depends what prep they are doing.

If sanding then floor first. It’s not that difficult to protect the floor. It is quite difficult to protect the walls from getting dusty.
