Induction hobs

If you have an induction hob, which one do you have and are you happy with it?

We need to get one for our new kitchen and it’s a bit of a minefield out there… we initially were thinking of Bosch, but now DH is looking at Neff. It doesn’t have the “rings” where you put your pans on, which is an issue with our current crappy one (not Neff though) where I’ve no idea which one is meant to be hotter/bigger/smaller.

Thanks!

We have a Bosch one and I love it.
It’s my first induction hob and I find it really responsive and easy to use.
I also bought these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bake-Glide-Induction-Protector-Circles/dp/B0C9MV3D56
to protect it and they work really well

I have a Hotpoint - it’s ancient now, over 12 years old, but works perfectly. I love it!

We have a Bora.

Neff.

I have the neff one with the magnetic knob. I love it, I hate the touch controls. I also had a Miele with the touch controls. It was good other than the touch controls.

We got a Hi Sense two years ago and chose it simply because it didn't resemble the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. My previous one I got from Comet when it went bust, unbranded it was similarly simple to operate.

AEG. 10yrs +.

We have a Bosch and I love it

We have the Neff N70 vented hob. I love it. The lack of physical controls is occasionally frustrating but you get the hang of them easily. I has bridging zones so you can heat large trays etc up over two of the heating areas at once.

Really responsive and easy to clean.

Ours is an AEG hob. We’ve had it 10yrs this year and it’s still as good as new. We got it because my parents cracked theirs about 12/13yrs ago & replaced it with an AEG and we liked it enough to buy the same. Both are still going strong.

I have a Samsung one and have zero complaints with it - it’s got a bridging zone though I barely use it 🤷‍♀️

SleepingisanArt · 02/08/2026 15:25

Our Neff is 20 years old! Still looks like new and works perfectly. If this one dies I'll replace it with a Neff with bridging zones. (Ours has rings in various sizes but sometimes an even bigger ring would be handy. )

On my second Neff. Had the first one for 24 years before it started to play up. Now on my second Neff it’s good but not as good as my first. I didn’t realise they had different amounts of power so I can only boost one ring at a time which is not a huge problem but is something I wish I had known when I bought it. Which guide has Neff top of the list but pricey. Their second recommendation was Ikea. They often had an offer to subscribe to Which for around a pound and then cancel membership. Worth doing to read the reviews.

I have a cook and Lewis one, was really cheap! My mum and Dad had one fitted in their kitchen and I loved it so much I got the same one!

LlamaFluff · 03/08/2026 07:10

Thanks, looks like there’s a range of brands and nothing to avoid. We’ve settled on Bosch in the end.

We have a range master. Very happy. DH wanted one with no rings but it wouldn’t fit into our space. It was genius though - it heats up under your pan wherever you put it.

Mine is both induction and gas- flipping love it.
