I’ve tried asking Claude but I didn’t find it very helpful so I think I need real humans who’ve done something similar and I need some images to help me visualise how this could work!
Weve knocked through kitchen to dining & family snug and are now deciding what to do with our new space. I’ve got a virtual designer who’s come highly recommended to help with layout and kitchen design but I’d like to have my own ideas / research on how to solve the floor problem.
kitchen was large grey tiles with dark grout. Very practical but I’m not keen on grey. Rest of the downstairs is a lovely warm yellow wood that’s excellent quality so I’d like to keep it. Plus don’t want to add the expense (yet!) of new flooring throughout if we can help it.
I have a traditional / early 1900s vibe with lots of very pre-loved furniture and rugs. Lots of plans etc so maximalist / boho.
What sort of floor would you use for the new kitchen area??? Going to hope there’s natural line in the layout where we can add a brass strip or similar to signal the change.
I flip flip between wanted a complementary type of ‘wood look’ and something more traditionally tiled…
What would you do and bonus points for photos or links to something!!!
