Anyone using air-based heating upstairs instead of radiators or underfloor heating?

Does anyone have air based heating (rather than radiators) in their home? We are renovating and will have underfloor downstairs but want aircon in our bedrooms. Given aircon units can heat too, I wonder if we need radiators / underfloor upstairs. The units will be hidden in a void so not visible and also slightly quieter given they are not actually in the room.

i understand the heat ‘feels’ different but I was wondering if anyone has experience of it and what your feedback is?

I used to have warm air heating in a 1970s house. It was useless and always freezing cold. I ripped it out and installed proper radiators. This wasn't a modern air conditioning unit though.

No but I am thinking about it. Upstairs has been far too hot lately and the cost of proper insulation is £10k+ (flat roof, extension, nightmare)

Yes we do. We have underfloor all downstairs and air con units in bedrooms (plus heated towel rails in bathrooms). It works well and is cheap (once installed). They heat up a room quickly and have various timers and thermostats - although we tend to just turn on and off ourselves. Unlike with radiators, the walls and carpets don't get warm though which takes a bit of getting used to. We lived in very old very cold houses before so aren't bothered by that. We have also insulted our house fully (inc wall insulation) so we don't lose heat. I love not having radiators. And Aircon in summer is the best.
