House buying chain - what happens in conveyancing?

We’re in the house buying process. Our buyer is selling to an investor who will rent out the property. We are going to a new build.

So 3 in the chain.

The survey has been done on our property (and the price negotiated down following it). We’ve had enquiries sent over and we’ve responded and purchased an indemnity policy as we couldn’t provide certificate for something.

I imagine our solicitor will ask for searches for our new build and also obtain the estate management details (pack?)

I assume our buyers sale is progressing as we’ve not heard anything to say otherwise.

Our house will be ready end of August.

What else is there to do?

Pray and hope.

I’m doing lots of that!! It’s such a precarious process.

Lots of waiting at this stage unfortunately.

You can be a bit proactive - find out from your solicitor what they are still waiting on, responses to inquiries etc? If it's dragging get your agent to put some pressure on. The agents should also talk to each other to find out how the rest of the sale is progressing.

As far as I'm concerned you're paying thousands for a service, perfectly reasonable not to be left in the dark about things

Ita a horrible limbo ans not a huge amount you can do but keep your fingers crossed and respond to anything that comes to you very quickly.

You cna only control your bit really.

Good luck OP! Its long and annoying but so worth it in the end
