Where should I put a desk- with diagram

I’m working from home 4 days a week. I tend to work off the dining table when I have meetings.
DH has bought the world’s largest TV (love it. Not!) and it’s currently mounted on top of the mantlepiece.
Any ideas on how I could rearrange the living room to add a desk/chair?

Where are the windows?

Oops there is one double window behind the sofa closest to the TV. I’ve just drawn it now an a rectangle in freehand. It faces the front garden.

Move the TV stand with storage to the other side of the TV, and put the desk in its place

So you're currently in the adjoining dining room? Why are you wanting to move onto the lounge, or are you saying that the large tv is now making too much noise through the arch door?

i’ll try this later today. i’ll measure it out to see if we can still open it from there.
It’s quite big.

That made me chuckle. DH usually works from the dining table- 2 days a week and has many meetings, as do I. I’ve noise cancelling headsets but being on the same table is a bit much for calls.

Ill also have a bash at converting the unders cupboard into an office. I’ve always said i’d like to try that….

What is the opinion on moving the sofa to the left closer to the rug and setting up near the wall? Space to walk through might be a bit tight but i’ll see.

Alternatively get 1 or 2 smaller storage units to replace the big unit, or maybe something with a foldaway desk to combine both uses.

If you aren't using the TV stand, get rid of it. Put a desk there with storage.

I am struggling to visualise the room with the rug skewed and so on. I'm not grasping the size and space available as there seems to be a lot of empty/wasted space. If you are happy to, can you upload a photo OP?
