Would you buy a white garden sofa

Recently moved to a new house with a decent sized patio and considering getting a garden sofa set. I have seen one I like woth white cushions but they don't have cushion covers that can be removed. Just wondering if others have had white garden sofas and whether you would recommend them? I would take the cushions in for the winter and sometimes in summer but not every night so worried they might go manky fairly quickly

Never in a million years.... 😅

I do think they look nice though!!!

No, they look nice for 5 minutes.
I have a grey one that looks like new 6 years on. I leave the cushions out all summer.

No because of the washing and drying but if you can wash and dry them quickly then go for it if they are really nice and you like them.

We have not white, but a very pale beige. They are made of some sort robust cotton material which means they can be left out (we’ll store them after the summer), they seem to repel rain and dirt just wipes off.

I did. The covers come off. They are left oit all the time, and could do with being replaced after 5 years. However, they do come clean if jet washed.

Also, I stand them up when we go in, so it rains they dry quickly. If I had garden covers or indoor winter storage I would do it again.

Just get a cover off Amazon then you can leave them out all summer. Mine are cream and still like new after 4 years

Mine is slightly off-white ( cushions) From B&Q, about 15 years old.some sort of linen mix. Looks pretty pristine. But I store it overnight, and I put a cover on the seat before the dog gets up there.

A quick wipe or vacuum restores it.

Definitely not

Ineffable23 · 16/06/2026 20:49

I don't think I would risk it without removable covers.

The easiest things is to get covers that go right over the sofas. That also means that if it has rained or it’s dewy you can still sit on them when you want without waiting for them to dry. That’s the biggest issue for us as they take forever to dry and soak up masses of water.
A quick diy cheap alternative is you stack up the cushions when not using and wrap with a cheap garden tarp.
We have white and grey sofas and even the grey ones show white bird poo stains. The white ones the birds like shitting black poo or red berry flavoured poo on to them so either way your answer is covers.
